| I am currently living in the middle east and as a woman and a foreigner this has meant several restrictions being forced onto me The screen door is symbolic of an inability to move freely around the country, while the pillar outside is reflective of a male dominated society. There is a bitter-sweet feeling of warmth and light from the sunshine and the harshness of the grille of the screen door. What I really like about this drawing is the contrast between the abstract shapes and the realism. | |
