Solitary Vision

Charcoal on Paper
23" x 30"
March 2007
$400 unframed

Continuing work about my experiences of living in the Middle East, Solitary Vision is symbolistic of the voyeuristic nature of living here. We are here but yet not included, we look out at the life here and feel its restrictions without really being a part of it. The curves of the chair are reflections of woman while the pillar in the foreground illustrates a male dominated society. I like the shapes created in this drawing and the simplicity of the subject.
